| About the Artist |
| Charles DuPre DeAntonio was born in 1968, the eldest son of fellow Lowcountry artist Charles DeAntonio. After studying art at the College of Charleston and the Savannah College of Art & Design, Charles lived in Belize and Philadelphia before returning to his boyhood home of McClellanville, SC. His early career focused primarily on abstract interpretations in oil. Following his marriage in 2000 and the birth of his daughter in 2002, the intimate joys of family life inspired a new interest in capturing an individual's likeness and spirit in portraits. Charles now lives in Charleston. |
